In 2024, the UNT Triathlon Club sought to bring back a race we used to host many years prior. The Mean Green Duathlon was created as a race for South Midwest Collegiate athletes to compete with other schools and experience Denton, Texas and North Texas. The race has been supported by other triathlon race hosts and various local businesses and is continuing to do that in coming races.
